These powerful blue lights can even glow to the extent that we can see them during the day. It may be challenging at first, but it is highly encouraged that everyone should try to lower the screen time at night.

Arjun Walia from Collective Evolution says that you may not be aware of the blue light that comes from your smartphone. The light that resembles the brightness of the sun tricks your brain into thinking that it’s already day time. This stops you from falling asleep.

This is why experts usually tell people to start getting into the habit of turning off devices two hours before sleeping. Parents should be more cautious of its effects to teenagers. The circadian rhythm shifts during adolescence which lets teenagers feel even more awake at night. Devices will even push this further, and they’ll be having so much trouble sleeping.

You can do something about this. It doesn’t matter if you’re a parent, a young adult or a teenager. Limit your screen time by turning off all devices two hours before you sleep. You can distract yourself by reading a book instead.
