A Close Look At Your Mouth Bacteria

You may think that microscopic organisms may be limited in other parts of the body, in  fact, you might be surprised that there are in fact a lot of bacteria types and strains that line the mouth and are in fact more helpful to use instead of causing us harm.

This was recently shown by innovative British photographer Steve Gschmeissner who recently showcased his work by showing another world through the lens of his camera. Gschmeissner used his expertise in electron microscopy to capture images of microscopic life that line the teeth, mouth and tongue.

He took the stunning photos using the inside of his mouth to study the different bacterial ecosystems that allow and sustain bacteria to thrive, where most of them are regarded as harmless and even play a crucial role in aiding digestion.
