We have that mindset that worrying leads to nothing but anxiety, fear, stress, among other negative things, so we tend to avoid it. Even a famous song by Bobby Mcferrin back in the 1980s, says: “don’t worry, be happy.” Well, this has possibly been the life quote of millions of people on this planet.
It’s human nature to worry. And the more we ignore it, the more we get blinded on what’s really happening in front of us. In fact, a new study has found that people who worry a lot may have their advantages when it comes to productivity and success. More information is reported by Shana Lebowitz on Business Insider:
Scientists say people who worry a lot have an important advantage
If after you’ve finished a job interview, you tend to bite your nails to shreds and mentally replay the questions you fumbled until you’ve convinced yourself that you absolutely, positively didn’t get the job, take heart. Read more…
To sum it up, people who worry a lot are more determined to take action whatever happens, and they are less anxious in the end, whether they fail or succeed. If they fail, they are not much disappointed. If they get positive results, they are way happier. It’s like all the worrying is worth it in the end.
On the other hand, people who try to avoid worrying or try to suppress their feelings are more anxious when they fail, because they somehow expected more. If they succeed, they are not much excited about it because it’s already expected.
Like what was said in the article, don’t worry about worrying too much.
