Taking naps is beneficial for our health. Aside from providing instant recovery in the middle of a tiring day, it also increases alertness, provides relaxation, enhance overall performance, improve mood, and even reduce the risk of injuries or accidents that could happen when you’re too tired.
However, there are naps that make you feel like you’re actually rejuvenated, while there are those instances when you don’t know how to even speak or move.

So how long should your naps be? The best may be 20 to 30 minutes. As you’ve watched in the video from ASAP Science, 30 minutes and longer will make you feel the grogginess, scientifically known as sleep inertia, and that could affect your performance. Sleep inertia is sometimes accompanied by headaches, too.
Also, don’t take longer naps or at a later time of the day because that will make it harder for you to sleep at night. The best time is around 2 or 3 P.M.
