Why Exercise Is Medicine: Reasons Why It’s Beneficial For Everyone

CNN reports about the seminar conducted by Weill Cornell Medical College. It wasn’t about pharmacology or microbiology. The main objective was about prescribing exercise as a form preventive therapy.

Thing is, even more than half of medical practitioners have not received any formal training related to physical activity based on a 2015 study.

Bob Brenzing from Fox17 explains that the seminar’s main purpose is to teach medical students the importance of incorporating exercise as part of their patients’ therapy. It is highly recommended because it is just one of the most effective forms of preventive treatment.

Dr. Metzl said that a good example for using preventive methods is diabetes. If we give more attention to how this can be avoided, we don’t have to spend a lot of money for medical expenses.

HSS explores the benefits of physical activity to patients. It has numerous effects which favour a healthy and well-rounded lifestyle. Dr. Metzl says it works for almost everyone with positive outcomes like improving cognitive functions such as memory, focus and mood.

This manages blood pressure and cholesterol levels too. It even has better effects to cancer and type 2 diabetes patients.
