One of the least recognized and oft-forgotten vitamin is Vitamin B, which many people often mistake as a vitamin responsible for growth and height, nothing more.
In fact, Vitamin B12 (folate and cyanocobalamin) is crucial in preventing strokes, which is a common disease that affects millions all over the world,
Brain health is as important as heart and body health, which people think could be a complicated process thinking that maybe ways and methods to keep it healthy vary in different ways.
Studies, however, show that as you continue to aim in keeping your heart healthy, you may also unsuspectingly be taking care of your brain as well- psychologically, physically and nutritionally.
Strokes are often associated as a genetic disorder that may be handed down from one generation another, however, living an unhealthy lifestyle can also be a contributing factor in increasing the risk of having a stroke attack.
Lifestyle habits that may lead to stroke attacks are alcohol abuse, smoking, obesity, unhealthy diet, low physical activity and substance abuse particularly the use of narcotics like cocaine and amphetamines.
The key to this is prevention and although it may not be a total solution, it does lessen the risk of getting a stroke attack, as long as you know how to manage the proper lifestyle composed of exercise activities, proper diet and nutrition and of course, proper rest.
Aside from Vitamin B12, there are more B complex vitamins that can be sourced from other foods and carries a good range of protection for the body, not just stroke.
- Thiamin. This vitamin B type helps the body regulate the appetite and aids in proper metabolism so the body may absorb nutrients and minerals essential for better health.
- Riboflavin. This helps in producing better skin quality, as well as enhances the skin’s protection from diseases and effects of harmful ultraviolet rays.
- Niacin. This promotes healthy nerve function and supports proper blood circulation as it carries all the nutrients and minerals all over the body. It also enhances nerve signals from the brain.
- Vitamin B6. This aids in proper red blood cell growth and helps in nutrient and vitamin absorption.
- Biotin and Pantothenic Acid. These are also two vitamin B types that help promote better metabolism and optimizes the breakdown of food into nutrients and minerals essential for the body.
It is always important that with exercise comes the need for proper diet to allow the body to get its share of nutrients, vitamins and minerals to say healthy and function properly.
