New Study Shows Lifting Weights May Aid the Brain

Weightlifting never gets old – from teens to older adults, it’s always included in the workouts because they can burn a lot of unwanted fat, and it’s relatively easy to build muscle.

Even girls can benefit from it. It won’t make you manly. In fact, it will make you more feminine because you can rock your skinny jeans and sleeveless shirts, pretty much any clothing!

We’re all aware of the fact that it can improve our overall aesthetic appeal, but a new study has shown that lifting weights may aid the brain, too. Read more in this report by Gretchen Reynolds on The New York Times:

Lifting weights may aid the brain, and it can also enhance metabolism, boost athletic performance, ease depression symptoms, improve circulation, and prevent back pain. It reduces your risk of diseases like diabetes, osteoporosis, and obesity. Plus, it makes your day-to-day activities much easier!

So, why not go to the gym and lift a few weights? You can do it at home, too. Around 15 – 20 minutes per session is good. And remember, you have to do it at least twice a week to maximize the benefits. Just don’t train too hard!
