Sugar is addicting, especially for kids. They are almost unstoppable when it comes to candies, chocolates, soda, fruit juices, and other processed foods that contain a lot, even more than the daily recommended intake.

The human body does not really need sugar to function properly. It contains calories with zero nutrients, which can damage your metabolism. And of course, it’s the leading contributor to weight gain, as well as other conditions like obesity, diabetes, heart diseases, and certain types of cancers.

Yes, cutting sugar improves children’s health in just 10 days. It’s better to be late than never! There are other healthier ways you can satisfy your child’s sweet tooth. Stick to natural sugars found in plant foods.

Added sugars are the worst, so keep them away from them. Always read the labels because they are sometimes hidden in different names such as corn sweetener, corn syrup, fruit juice concentrates, high-fructose corn syrup, honey, molasses, raw, and other molecules ending in “ose” like dextrose, fructose, glucose, lactose, maltose, sucrose, and more.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends adults and children to limit their daily intake to less than 10% of total energy intake.
