There are two ways one can use marijuana – recreational or medical.
Recreational, usually through smoking, is common in young adults because it has the “euphoric-high” feeling. Side effects include confusion, sedation, paranoia, talkativeness, increased anxiety, inability to concentrate, and hallucinations. Furthermore, abusing and being addicted to it may cause cognitive impairment, affective and anxiety disorders, as well as respiratory and heart diseases.
On the other hand, medical is used through oil, green smoothie and edibles, to treat seizures and more.
A lot of parents are turning to it, but the doctors warn against medical marijuana because there’s no enough evidence of its safety or risk. Read more in this report on CTV News:

It’s hard to say if these doctors warn against medical marijuana because they are not really sure of its effectiveness.
How can a parent look at their ill child, and not do anything, if there’s one that works effectively, right? Some believe the fear mongering is in play, because these healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical companies are afraid that profits will decline. This is the same as the cure for cancer threatens the billion dollar industry.
Then again, they could be right. Although there have been no reported deaths caused by its usage, it’s hard to risk the lives of children, because some studies have actually found that it may cause psychological problems, such as schizophrenia, when used as a treatment.
It certainly needs more studies, and hopefully this will be debunked in a short while.
